This song is from an unreleased solo effort called “Picnic”. “No One Loves You” was recorded in 2010 featuring Barrie Rose of Tes Elations. It was the last song I recorded in my Silverlake Apartment before I moved in with Barrie and soon after left to Philly in 2011.
I looped the sample in 1999 and recorded a demo with it in 2002.
The video is made up of footage from an unfinished short film “Alice and Malice” I wrote and directed in winter 2010. It was an impulsive move by Steven and myself to just start shooting. I think I was telling him about it and he said he’d like to apart of it. So I asked “Got plans right now? Want to start shooting?” and we did.
Within a few days we were halfway finished with the film and then we just stopped and haven’t returned to it since.

I shot this footage in august 2008. It was the 3rd video I shot that year with Elizabeth Ann (aka Lis Bomb). The song was finished at that time and I had intentional plans for this video and this song to be together. The album it was released on came out in October 2009 (How to be Microwave’s Michael Nhat Self-titled) on 12inch Vinyl.
A lack of a computer of my own, money, neglect, the video was not finished upon the albums public release until this past week.
