A Real American Villain
A few months after I recorded “Heads On Sticks” I was courting labels to release it. One small indie label was interested in doing an EP, so in attempts to appease them I wrote and produced “Bats On Promenade” in 7 days. Then they declined to pursue the project. So, before we dive into 2016 I wanted to get it out of my system and into your ears. Enjoy.

“Even for a rapper known for using his art to bring a very unique American experience to the public eye, Heads on Sticks is extremely personal and extremely bleak, one of the grimmest and most tortured-sounding albums Michael Nhat has yet recorded” – LA Record Read More HERE
“(Nawt) Nhat delivers raw honesty” – The Korea Daily Newspaper Read More HERE
“Nhat unapologetically confronts the larger social context surrounding his personal background as an orphan survivor of the U.S. war in Viet Nam. In “The Racism I Go Through,” Nhat cuts through today’s oftentimes evasive and murky racial discourse by posing the question, “It’s 2014 and people are still this dumb? Fuck me!” (Nhat’s line perfectly captures my thought every time I turn on the news lately.)” – DiaCritics Read More HERE

With the celebration of my next album, “Heads On Sticks” August 4, I have printed up a limited number of American Apparel Tee shirts with the album cover art I illustrated in 2005. The T-shirts are 50/50 cotton/polyester. I specifically picked these out because they’re lighter, thinner, more comfortable than 100% Cotton ones.
These will be available in person at The Smell on the day of the release party August 7th the FIRST FRIDAY of August. These may sell out. If you want to pre-order go for it by clicking here and it will take you to my bandcamp where you can complete the transaction.
