- Friday: After 5 years at the same place, I was not expecting a laid-off, but I felt relieved because having a job I liked kept me from leaving where I live and the state. Now I’m considering options like moving back where family are, or trying somewhere new or even my home country. Or maybe keep it simple and just move somewhere like Long Beach or Walnut, CA. I’ve been in Downtown LA for a decade.
- Saturday: I got attacked by some random guy while crossing the street. He was looking at me, and said “You got a problem with me?” and I stopped and said “What?” then we argued a bit and then he pretended he was going to hit me and I flinched and she smiled. Then he did it again and this time my wrestling instincts kicked in and I took him down to the ground. He was a husky guy who was a little taller than me. I’ve been in fist fights since kindergarten and lost most of the time. I knew if I let this this big guy hit me first and compromise my clarity and vision, I could potentially get hurt and rack up another hospital bill. And I had a lot of money on me. So, I wasn’t taken those chances. I rolled him on to his back, pinning him and locked him up so he’d wear himself out trying to get up and when he did I let him go and helped him back up. But because concrete is not as soft as wresting mats, I have open wounds and scratches on my joints like elbow areas, and knees.
